Defending Free Assembly in a Digital World: Conversation with UN Special Rapporteur Clément Voule

On January 28, 2019, the Handa Center supported Stanford's Global Digital Policy Incubator (GDPi) in organizing a meeting with Clément Voule, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Assembly and Association. The meeting focused on the ways in which these rights are jeopardized around the world, how these threats can be addressed, and what role private companies should play in defending human rights. The event was also supported by the Human Rights Center at UC Berkeley, the World Movement for Democracy, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
