Søren Jørgensen

Søren is working on ethics, law and tech and how organizations may be ethically compliant in their dealings with tech and data with a group of European and Silicon Valley based companies. Søren has a background in diplomacy and working for Danish tech companies.

For the past 4 years Søren headed the Innovation Center in Palo Alto as CEO and Consul General of Denmark to Silicon Valley, working with tech innovation /tech industry related engagement supporting startups, innovation and research projects.Søren has worked with business development for the Danish IT company Maersk Data and for IBM.  Through his work for the Danish foreign service he has served as a press spokesman, as head of cabinet for 2 Danish ministers for Europe and negotiating European Policy. Søren represented Denmark as a lawyer at the European Court in Luxembourg.

Søren is mentor and advisor for various Danish tech startups. Søren employs his experience with Europe and European Politics to help Silicon Valley tech firms navigate Europe and EU requirements from the firm ForestAvenue. Søren has a Master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen, where he has also taught law. Søren has worked with the impact of tech on the future of the legal profession as a member of the special working group on the future of the legal profession established by the Danish Bar Association and as a co-founder of the Nordic Legaltech Hub in Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. Søren has a deep interest in how tech can further development of the UN’s global development goals and is a co-founder of the Tech Advisory Group at the Handa Center and of the Danish initiative Sustainary.
