Alexandra Koch is a junior majoring in International Relations and minoring in Human Rights. Motivated by the unrelenting belief that national security and human rights are mutually inclusive and interdependent, she has sought to perform her academic pursuits, extracurricular activities, and summer opportunities at the intersection between security and justice. She spent her past summer interning at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. As a 2020 Summer Human Rights Fellow, she plans to serve as part of the research team for the Public International Law and Policy Group (PILPG), a global pro-bono law firm in Washington, DC, focused on post-conflict constitution drafting, peace negotiations, and supporting transitional justice mechanisms and war crimes tribunals. As a 2020-2021 CISAC honors student, Alexandra will pursue a thesis on the morality, legality and existing state practice of cross-border use of force over the past decade.
