Alex is a rising senior from San Diego, California majoring in International Relations with focuses on international history & culture, and minoring in Human Rights and Arabic. Her interests center on transitional justice, international law, immigration justice, and political institutions, especially in the Middle East and Latin America. She spent two summers studying Arabic full-time in Amman, Jordan, and this summer carrying out research on memorialization of the 1990-91 Iraq invasion and occupation in Kuwait. While studying abroad in Santiago, Chile, she did a research project about military influence in Chile's post-dictatorship transitional justice process. She also tutors at the Hume center, works as a resident assistant, and volunteers as a peer counselor and course coordinator at the Bridge.
