The Sinner: film screening and discussion with Justice Project Pakistan

In 2015, Pakistan executed 325 prisoners on death row. In 2018, that number has dropped to 10. How did this happen?

Meet the leaders of Justice Project Pakistan, a human rights organization based in Lahore that helps defend the poorest prisoners facing the harshest punishments.

Using a combination of public engagement, legal representation and domestic and international advocacy, Justice Project Pakistan highlights gross miscarriages of justice and violations of international standards - and saves lives.

Justice Project Pakistan Executive Director Sarah Belal and Program Director Isfundiar Kasuri will be holding a talk on how to conduct successful advocacy to create change, followed by a screening of The Sinner, that tells the story of a state executioner. The film was officially selected for the 2017 UN Human Rights Film Festival, and this will be its first screening in the U.S.

The film is 40 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A discussion with Justice Project Pakistan.
